How It Started
During the global pandemic in 2020, Mr Amila Weerasinghe was moved by a story of an elderly mother passing away in Sri Lanka, whilst her daughter studying in Australia
The news of this incident and other similar stories triggered a wave of compassion for Amila. He shared his thoughts with his close friends, who all agreed that elderly parents need to be cared physically and emotionally.

How It's Going
In May 2020 the “Manusath” Foundation was incorporated in Australia as a charitable not-for- profit organization with the objective of helping needy communities in Sri Lanka in areas of health, education, religion, culture, social or public welfare.
“Meth Manasala” is the first project of “Manusath” Foundation to build an advanced facility to cater to the day-to-day needs of deserving elderly parents. The facility will offer free care for those elders who are unable to afford their living expenses or have hardly or no roof over their heads. Most importantly, the facility will help needy parents with physical and emotional support, as well as a comfortable home to connect with other residents and live with peace and dignity.
